Since launching our Nonprofit Leadership Program in 2005, the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund has supported more than 50 nonprofits as they set out to strengthen the capacity of social change leaders to fulfill the mission of the organizations they lead.

In the course of this work, we have been honored to partner with many organizations that are playing increasingly critical roles in social movements aimed at advancing and protecting fundamental rights and opportunities for all people.

This is the story from one such organization, the National Center for Lesbian Rights. The video features NCLR’s executive director Kate Kendell and legal director Shannon Minter. As the Fund’s senior director for leadership and grantmaking, Linda Wood, observes about the program: “Time and again, we have seen how the leadership investments these organizations are making have enhanced the capacity of their leaders to play a more influential role in broader movements for social change.”
