Darlene Hall serves as a program officer, doing grantmaking in the areas of youth development, gay and lesbian issues, and neighborhoods, as well as in the critical assistance program.

Before joining the Fund, Darlene was clinical director at Huckleberry Youth Programs, Inc. for homeless and runaway youth and their families in San Francisco. She was responsible for program development, management, and evaluation of outpatient psychotherapeutic and case management services.

Darlene is a licensed psychologist with 12 years of experience in community mental health and nonprofit settings serving diverse, low-income children, youth, families, and adults. She has provided clinical and diversity trainings to nonprofits and San Francisco’s Dept. of Human Services. Darlene was one of The San Francisco Foundation’s first Multicultural Fellows in Community Health. She is currently an Advisory Board Member for the National Center for Lesbian Rights’ Homophobia in Sports Project, and she volunteers with the Lavender Youth Recreation and Information Center and Girls on the Run.

Darlene earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, a M.A. in Research Psychology from San Francisco State University, and her B.A. in Psychology from the California State University, Sacramento.
