Re-Imagining Public Education

The San Francisco Unified School District launches Vision 2025

Vision 2025 is the result of a citywide conversation on how to re-imagine what graduating students must be able to do to succeed in the future, and how schools can help.

San Francisco is known for its groundbreaking innovation. And yet the gap between wealthy and poor in San Franciscans is growing faster than in any other city in the country. While San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) is the highest-performing large urban district in California, many students are failing.

SFUSD is launching Vision 2025, the result of a citywide conversation in which a broad range of San Franciscans worked with district leaders, teachers and students to re-imagine what graduating students must know and be able to do and what schools of the future must look like to make this happen. Vision 2025 is critically important because schools can’t restructure the way they do their work unless they have a vision that guides them.
