Maya Trabin

Maya Trabin joined the Fund in 2007 with a strong connection to its vision and values and a deep interest in sharing the stories of the Fund’s work. As part of the communications team, she works on the Fund's website and collateral to help audiences learn about the Fund's grantmaking and the work of its grantees. She also assists with Community grantmaking.

Prior to joining the Fund, Maya worked as an online editor at Youth Radio in Oakland, an intern with Human Rights Watch in San Francisco and a development intern in Ghana, West Africa organizing educational programs and women’s economic empowerment projects.

Maya earned her masters degree from the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague, the Netherlands where she majored in Human Rights, Development and Social Justice, and completed her thesis with honors on participatory media in South Africa. She  holds a B.A. in Community Studies from U.C. Santa Cruz.
