Paula Morris

Paula Morris is the program director for the Flexible Leadership Investments Program, a project of the Tides Center and the Haas Jr. Fund. She has worked with the program since its inception in 2005, and is responsible for the design and implementation of coaching, consulting, training, and peer learning opportunities to strengthen the leadership capacity of the staff and board of organizations that are grantees of the Fund. 

 Paula has 25 years of non-profit management, program development, grantmaking and consulting experience, with a particular focus on new initiatives and emerging organizations. Prior to working as an organizational development consultant, Paula was the program director for the Horizons Foundation. While there, she managed the foundation’s grantmaking and developed and managed the Strategic Partnership Program of leadership development and capacity building support for LGBT organizations and as well as the San Francisco AIDS Foundation's AIDS Walk grants. She is the author of “Starting An LGBT Community Foundation: A Resource Guide”, a publication of Funders for Lesbian and Gay Issues.

 She was executive director of International Development Exchange (IDEX), an organization that supports community development initiatives in Africa, Asia and Central America, and currently serves as vice chair on the IDEX board.  Before coming to the US in 1990, Paula worked for seven years in Indonesia and Zimbabwe, where she was Field Director for Voluntary Services Overseas. Paula began her professional life as a teacher, and she has an Honors Degree in Modern Languages from the University of Leeds and a Post Graduate Certificate of Education from the University of York, UK.
