Since graduating from college in the early 1990s, Masen Davis has spent his entire career working to advance LGBT equality. Today, he is CEO of Freedom for All Americans Education Fund, a bipartisan campaign to secure full nondiscrimination protections for LGBT people nationwide. In this video, Davis talks about how opponents of LGBT equality are trying to use transgender people and issues as a wedge to “gin up fear” among the public. But Davis says the ploy won’t work, as long as the LGBT movement’s supporters stay together and raise their voices on behalf of equity and fairness. “It is a gift to be part of this community and movement,” he says, adding that further progress for LGBT rights will come from the “collective action of each of us doing whatever we can to make things a little better.” Adds Davis, “We have not come this far to stop now.”
