“There is hope we can change this country, one step at a time. And it begins at the roots of our community.” Inspiring words from Serena Limas, who was named Coach of the Year during the 4th annual Game Changer Awards hosted by Coaching Corps. Limas, a volunteer youth coach from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Ramona Gardens, was a star among stars at the event, which also featured remarks by coaches and top players from the Bay Area’s professional sports teams. Coaching Corps strives to bring equity and opportunity to the world of youth sports—so that all kids can have the benefit of being coached and mentored by someone like Limas.
Make higher education more affordable so all young people have opportunities to realize the promise of a college degree.
